My youngest daughter is a recent college graduate...again. She is the proud owner of a BA, MA and MFA in English. Armed with this knowledge, she is teaching 8th grade English in a Charter School here in Louisiana under a TaT certificate. Years ago (before CCSS), I taught 8th grade English...back in the stone ages... before there were Smart Boards. When, if you were lucky, there was one computer in each classroom. Perhaps you recall? We used prehistoric tools back then - textbooks printed on paper, workbooks, notebooks, pencils, paper, duplicating machines (can you smell the fresh copies...?). Tools have changed, but in many ways, the students really haven't. ...
